Autographs also have a red ink variety that is numbered out of 10. I'm not sure if this is true for the dog autograph. In today's climate, I'm not sure how wise it would be to be caught forcing a dog with red, dripping paws to stomp all over trading cards for profit. I wonder what PETA's take is on all this.

Topps has the colossal swinging stones to put a relic card for their CEO in the set with all the buyout drama going on. I'm sure Upper deck has bought hundreds of cases of Allen & Ginter and have a Voodoo Priestess on call just in case.

I want the Keith Olbermann relic card. Yeah, I know, he's an annoying liberal loudmouth who is trying in vain to channel the poltergeist of Edward R. Murrow for a third-rate cable news channel. I don't care, he's funny and I like him. Besides, I have fond memories of watching Keith and Dan on SportsCenter with by buddy Jon back in my college days. The only fond memory of Bill O'Reilly that I have is the time my father in law had the family all watch his show one evening so we could see for ourselves how good it was. Unfortunately it was the night he had a porn star peddling her new sex book on as a guest. Good times, good times...

There is one massive omission on this short print relic list that I'm not sure how to interpret. The sell sheet shows a George Washington DNA relic card and the checklist actually lists three different varieties of GW relics. So wha hoppen? Did Topps simply forget to add GW to the short print list? Did they get caught trying to pass off an Aaron Burr pube as a Washington nose hair and have to yank the insert? Did they find Washington's barber's heirs and end up with a bushel of DNA for the cards? Inquiring minds want to know!

Finally, I'd love to get one of the Negro Leaguers' autographs but it looks like they are all short printed. It looks like they are in the base set though, so that's good enough for me.
